The Cult Favorite: P50

What is the one beauty product you would take with you if you were stranded on a deserted island? Mine is P50 hands down.  I have a true love affair with P50!

Paris-based Biologique Recherche created the cult favorite, Lotion P50. P50 is magic in a bottle.  It really does it all; exfoliates, hydrates, and balances the pH of the skin. It helps to minimize pores and clear existing breakouts, including cystic acne. Your skin will look more vibrant, smooth, bright and clear.  It is a game changer and all types of skin can use P50, even people with sensitive skin, like me.  My husband is now a daily user too.  P50 will truly change your skin. I have been using P50V for 15+ years.  Friends and strangers ask me daily what is my skincare routine, what products I use and that my skin is glowing.  I attribute my dewy skin to P50V.

The way I use P50V is to wet a cotton pad and squeeze out the excess water. Place a few drops of the P50V on the wet cotton pad and use in upward and outward motion on your entire face and neck. Follow with your favorite serum, a face cream and eye cream. You may experience some tingling, burning and slight redness, they will subside.   On the other hand, the smell will take time getting used to.

Please keep in mind your skin type while choosing the P50 for you. The strongest strength is P50 and then the newer versions P50V, P50W and P50PIG are more mild and recommended for sensitive skin. The original product, Lotion P1970, was developed in 1970.  P50 1970 uses small amounts of the controversial ingredient, phenol, a chemical acting as an exfoliant combined with other natural ingredients such as salicylic acid, lactic acid, vitamins and vinegar to help gently exfoliate and improve the balance and strength of your skin. I am all for clean products but the small amount of phenol does not prevent me from buying the P50 1970.  If you prefer a clean product that is less potent but equally as effective, please make sure to buy the P50 without the 1970 label on the bottle.
