Dr. Walter Longo and the Prolon Diet

Dr. Walter Longo is a Ph.d and Director of the Longetivity Center at USC.  He is the creator of the Prolon diet. Dr. Longo believes that you must treat aging as a disease and that it is imperative to understand aging on the personal level as well as on the cellular level.  He found that the current medical system is stuck and nutrition was never viewed as a type of medicine.  Dr. Longo’s research has shown that by measuring someone’s health it is vital you look at their biological age through specific blood work as well as their chronological age.  Through evaluating the blood work it shows that you can decrease your biological age through diet.  When you combine all of these factors, such as, the specific blood work, inflammation measures, metabolism, cardiovascular health and kidney & liver functions it creates your real biological profile. Dr. Longo was trying to discover a way to decrease your biological age through diet and that is how Prolon was born.

Prolon is a fast mimicking diet that is packaged and prepared for 5 days.  The diet mimics the effects of fasting while giving enough nutrients to avoid any harm.  When you are in a fasting state, your body starts looking for things that are not working properly.  Good cells are saved and bad cells are targeted and dying off at a much faster rate.  Dr. Longo believes there is a direct correlation between fasting and longevity.  Through his research it indicates calorie restriction is proven to help in the fight against diabetes, certain cancers and cardiovascular disease in health and wellness.   

Dr. Longo’s research & clinical research have shown his fast mimicking program reduces risk factors for multiple age related diseases as well as reduces weight and targets fat cells. After two rounds of taking the Prolon cleanse, I changed my diet and I am eating more aligned with a vegetarian and pescatarian diet and feel healthier.  I have more mental clarity and can honestly say I haven’t slept better.  It has changed my complete outlook on diet and health, all for the better.  Here’s to living to 120!
